Join Us in Shaping the Future
Partner with Farmington School District to inspire, empower, and support the next generation of leaders and learners.
The Farmington School District uses a variety of assessments to monitor individual student progress and inform our professional programming and intervention resources. These assessments are used by teachers to provide “just in time” instruction; measure the impact of professional development and curriculum changes; and provide intervention strategies as needed. Multiple data sources have been used to establish a baseline for student academic standing. The data collection resources include New Hampshire Statewide Assessment System (SAS), STAR, DIBELS, PSAT, SAT and PowerSchool. All sources of data are triangulated to gain a picture of where students are academically. In addition, the data is used to plan and map areas of need within curriculum and instruction. Other areas of information include survey data on student interest and engagement.

The Data Wise process is being used at all schools to address target areas. This process is being supported in PLCS as well as in professional development offered by the District. During the 2024-2025 school year all PLCs discussed the types of data that are available, reviewed longitudinal data for students’ overtime, making note of where to leverage improvement. In addition, a professional development seminar was held to reinforce the use of data as a method of targeting and improving student learning.
